in 2022, we reached new heights.

2022 was an incredible year for Altoona. The City reached a population of nearly 20,000 residents, a 35% increase since 2010. Over $320 million in new building permits were issued, the second highest year of permit valuations, behind 2021. Plus, the City approved site plans for over 2 million square feet of new space development.

Altoona continues to grow in a remarkable fashion, helping the many proud families and businesses that reside here to flourish. The road ahead of Iowa's Rising Star is paved with opportunity.
