By 2019, the city\u2019s population is expected to reach more than 17,000\u2014a 17% increase since 2010.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Altoona is the prime choice for Iowa families\u2014and residential developers are taking notice. Projections show that from 2000-2019, Altoona will have increased its number of households by a staggering 60%.<\/p>\n<h2>This growth is not simply the future of Altoona, it\u2019s happening now.<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>The <strong>Linden Oaks<\/strong> development broke ground in November on a 173-unit town home rental project along Adventureland Drive and 5<sup>th<\/sup> Street NE. Developer: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.byredwood.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Redwood Living<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Bennett Bay<\/strong> development has 48 scenic lots in a wide variety of sizes tucked into a quiet neighborhood along 15<sup>th<\/sup> Avenue NW, between a city park and elementary school. Developer: <a href=\"http:\/\/ele119.com\/developments\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Element 119<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Ironwood South<\/strong> development is currently under construction with over 300 apartments, 110 single family lots, a large City park and daycare center.
