Market interest drives New England Development’s decision to share progress
The Des Moines region’s first outlet mall is also the first New England Development outlet project to stream its progress live on the web. The construction of Outlets of Des Moines, a 300,000 square foot development to feature major-label outlet stores and restaurants, may now be followed by clicking here.
“The national interest and local buzz around Outlets of Des Moines has been incredible,” said Mike Barelli, Vice President for New England Development. “With steel erection well underway, prospective retailers, business leaders and community supporters are engaging in and rallying around the potential opportunities this project will create. With such strong interest, we believe providing a bird’s eye view of the construction progress via Webcam will be exciting and appreciated.”
Scheduled to open October 20, 2017, Outlets of Des Moines, located in Altoona, Iowa, is just six miles from Des Moines, a city recognized by Forbes as #1 on the list of America’s 15 Best Cities for Young Professionals and #2 on the list of Best Places for Business and Careers. POLICOM Corporation, an independent economic research firm, also ranked Des Moines as the #1 Strongest Local Economy in the United States in 2014, and in the top five in 2015.
New England Development’s strength and momentum in the retail industry continues with this being its fifth outlet center in four years. Like its other projects, Outlets of Des Moines is in a highly-desirable location – clearly visible from the major thoroughfares of Interstate 80 and Highway 65, and sharing the same exit as popular area attractions and retailers such as Adventureland Amusement Park; Prairie Meadows Casino, Racetrack & Hotel; and Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World.
