The East Polk Innovation Collaborative (EPIC), Facebook, and other local partners have moved quickly in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic to establish the East Polk County Relief Fund to provide direct economic relief to East Polk County small businesses, nonprofit organizations, and residents who are being impacted by the Coronavirus outbreak.

The recent coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has affected many industries in the Altoona area, but few have been hit harder than foodservice.

In a sign of changing times and the ‘new normal’, the permit for The Emory – a new residential development by Haverkamp Properties – was approved during a recent, rather unconventional Altoona City Council meeting.
“This is where the workforce is. This is where the market’s going.”
Since 2013, The Graham Group has developed more than 3 million square-feet of industrial warehouse space in the Des Moines metro. For their latest project – a massive 75-acre development with two x 270,000 square-foot warehouses (540,000 square-feet total) – they chose Altoona.
