What’s happening along 8th Street SW?

Elder is working on removing the south two lanes of 8th Street.
Starting on Tuesday, September 22nd, there will be night work (7 p.m. – 7 a.m.) to remove and replace the intersection paving of 34th Ave SW and 8th St SW.
This work will take at least two nights. During the night, there will be no through-traffic on 34th Ave SW. Travelers will need to follow the posted detour route indicators.
The intersection will be open to traffic during the day. Contractors will also begin construction of the new storm sewer that will be installed in the existing south ditch along 8th St SW.
Completion Date Stage 1 (between Hwy 65 to 34th Ave): November 20, 2020
Final Project Completion Date: December 2021
