LightEdge Solutions Inc., an enterprise-grade cloud service provider, colocation and consulting company, will more than double the size of its operation in Altoona over the next year, CEO Jim Masterson said.
The 50,000-square-foot expansion next to the original 30,000-square-foot building will allow the company to keep expanding its cloud-based solutions and server services to clients, include offering companies their own section of the server farm.
Construction will start May 1 and will take a year. Masterson declined to give a specific cost estimate but said similar building projects — not including the equipment — cost $25 million to $40 million typically.
The company expects to add 10 or 15 jobs to its 100-member staff in Des Moines as the expansion unfolds. LightEdge, which employs 150 total, also has operations in Kansas City, Mo.
