Outlets of Des Moines, an open-air lifestyle destination in Altoona, Iowa, and the region’s first outlet center, is officially one year old. To mark the occasion, the center hosted several celebratory events including the grand opening of Polo Ralph Lauren Factory Store, an art installation by Des Moines artist and illustrator Laura Palmer, one-year anniversary sweepstakes as well as music and entertainment for all ages.
Since last October, Outlets of Des Moines have opened seven new stores including; Polo Ralph Lauren Factory Store, Michael Kors, Old Navy Outlet, Lucky Brand, Christopher & Banks, American Eagle and Game Day Outlet. Chocolaterie Stam will open their sixth location in Iowa at the center in November and Forever 21 will open in December.
“We are proud to be a shopping destination for not only our local and regional residents but for the thousands of visitors who come to central Iowa each year,” said TJ Just, general manager Outlets of Des Moines. “We are just getting started and look forward to continuing to provide our community with a wide variety of fashion-forward merchandise for years to come!”
Along with the commitment to bring new and exciting retailers to central Iowa, Outlets of Des Moines is dedicated to serving the Greater Des Moines community. Over the past year, the center hosted over a dozen events that supported the mission of local non-profits including the Altoona Chamber of Commerce, Relay for Life, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, The Animal Rescue League, Altoona Campus and more.
