The 107-room hotel, Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott in Altoona, Iowa is scheduled to open this Monday, April 24, 2017 with its smart, inventive public space and guest room design, and its bright and inviting decor. Des Moines metro’s newest shopping center will open in exactly one year — guaranteed.
The last load-bearing beam at the Outlets of Des Moines project in Altoona was put in place this week, which signals the project’s skeleton structure is in place. Workers have started enclosing three of the outlet’s planned nine buildings, said Mike Barelli, vice president of New England Development, the Boston-based company building the outlet mall. Just over a year ago, we announced our plans to expand the Altoona Data Center to three buildings. In that announcement, we spoke about the city of Altoona, state of Iowa, construction partners, and our employees all working at historic speeds and helping us scale. New England Development announced today that construction work will be in full swing this month on the Outlets of Des Moines property in Altoona, Iowa. Opening in October 2017, Outlets of Des Moines will feature some of the best brand names in retail. Spectators Sports Bar and Grill has announced its grand opening celebration will be held on April 11. The venue, which seats approximately 300 guests, has over 100 viewing screens including a 220″ projection screen on the main wall, a live feed sports ticker and has every sports package offered by DirecTV requiring over five and a half miles of audio-video cabling. Last December’s unseasonable weather had a disastrous effect on Make-A-Wish® Iowa’s largest fundraising event, Jolly Holiday Lights. Water Works Park, which was home to the event for twenty years was flooded, causing the charity to shutdown half-way through their event.
